Am I losing perspective?

I went to an exhibition in Cairns a couple of weeks ago, the Blunt Edge of Portraiture. 60 local artists pick each other’s names from a hat and produce portraits of one another. The ‘pink phoenix’ gallery is under someone’s house, and entertainment comes from bands in the garage.

I came home inspired, and determined to break my painting drought, despite the busyness and demands of school at this time of year. So I took one of several half-heartedly half finished canvases, and started working over it with cheap oil paints and  little forethought. This is the result. I’ve titled it ‘Am I losing perspective (Me, our house, our cars)’.  I think it catches where I’m at. And it was fun – I’m sure I’ll be out doing more before too long.
